EU-Compliant Dehydrated Ingredients Sourced from India
Atlas AgroFood supplies food manufacturers and importers across the EU with dehydrated vegetable powders, spice powders, and fruit powders that meet European regulatory requirements β with pesticide MRL testing, aflatoxin analysis, phytosanitary certificates, and full traceability documentation as standard.
EU Import Requirements for Indian Food Ingredients
The European Union applies some of the world's most stringent controls on imported food ingredients. For Indian-origin dehydrated vegetables, spices, and fruit powders, the primary regulatory frameworks are:
- Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 β General Food Law: requires full traceability from farm to finished product. Atlas AgroFood maintains batch-level traceability records as standard.
- Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 β Maximum Residue Levels for pesticides. Indian spices and herbs have historically featured in RASFF alerts for MRL exceedances. We conduct pesticide residue screening against EU MRL limits on export batches.
- Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006 β Maximum levels for aflatoxins in spices. Aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2 testing is available on request for all spice and herb products.
- Regulation (EU) 2017/625 β Official Controls: may require Border Inspection Post (BIP) clearance and, for certain product-origin combinations, enhanced import checks. We advise on current enhanced check requirements for your specific product category.
- Cinnamon coumarin limits β Regulation (EC) No 1334/2008 restricts coumarin content from Cassia cinnamon. We supply Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) with coumarin content documented on COA for EU compliance.
